ORA explores the process of self-discovery and identity development in young people through the lens of clothing and various uniforms. The piece reveals how attire and uniforms reflect the tension between group belonging and individuality, featuring five professional adult dancers who revisit their youth and blend it with their adult lives.
The piece is intended for audiences aged 13 and up.
ORA is a collaboration between the Reut Shemesh Dance Company and the Kelim Choreography Center, with support from the Israel Lottery Council for Culture and Art and the Ministry of Culture. The Reut Shemesh Dance Company is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Cultural Department of the City of Cologne. ORA is a continuation of the international project 'Esther,' created as part of a network of dance centers in Germany that promote works for young audiences.
