Based on a True Story is an intimate duet born from the shared life of choreographer Maayan Leibman Sharon and her husband, military analyst Roy Sharon. After October 7th, Maayan began to recognize the sounds that filled their home - the songs Roy hums, the melodies he whistles to himself, fragments of music that echo his inner world. These sounds became a kind of emotional engine, a living soundtrack bridging collective memory and personal presence.
The work transforms these everyday gestures and silences into a physical dialogue about the pain of war, the weight of history, and the quiet persistence of intimacy. On stage, two dancers move through distance and closeness, loss and recognition, searching for connection without erasing the spaces between them.
