Diver Festival 24
Artistic dirctor: Ido Feder
Mahol Shalem hosts the Diver 24 Festival
In times of religious wars, torn between the dilemmas of staying or fleeing, the need emerges to see the world of art as a form of Dat Dan.
For the first time, we will ascend to Jerusalem, to the Mitham Ha'Parasa (Machol Shalem, Hazira, Between Heaven and Earth), and gather in the theater—four days that will fill all the halls of the complex, allowing the audience to see up to three performances a day from an enthralling selection.
Afterward, we will descend back to the coastal plain, to an exhibition at Park Ha'Midron in Jaffa in collaboration with Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality’s "Loving Art. Making Art." There, a performative exhibition will take place, where new public sculptures will be surrounded by works of music, dance, and various performances. This will weave a unique poetic journey, a kind of communal prayer and choreography of gazes on the environment and art.
Looking to the future, we cannot deny the need of our "sector" to explore gatherings, survival, and contemporary avant-garde to understand our identity alongside our diverse neighbors. We must empower the institutions, the rituals, the actions—taking part in the place and time through Dat Dan.
