About the event
Midsummer Reverie-
Evening of Solo works
All or Nothing
Yael Iddan
The work explores the internal conflict I experience in trying to sustain and reconcile the different facets of my life. This conflict brings forth feelings associated with impostor syndrome: because I am this, and this, and this, I sometimes feel that I am none of them. If I am not a master of all these roles, then perhaps I am merely pretending in each of them. The piece engages with the experience of standing at the edge of an abyss, the Sisyphean effort of trying to hold everything together, and the constant movement between the possibility of embracing all these identities and the impossibility of fully doing so.
Pohto: Natasha Shakhnes

Yael Iddan
Born in 1989, she is an independent dancer and choreographer based in Jerusalem, as well as a dance and yoga teacher and an osteopath. She holds a B.A. from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where she studied in the Department of Movement and the Choreography Track.
As a choreographer and creator, she draws inspiration from the inner processes, questions, and experiences that shape her personal world. Her movement language emerges from the body itself, approaching it as a space for inquiry, listening, and discovery—a place where emotions, dilemmas, conflicts, and processes of transformation take on tangible form and stage presence. For her, creation serves as a tool for processing life experiences, a means of examining states of uncertainty and challenge, and a way of transforming an inner experience into a shared one.
Her works are characterized by a powerful physicality and an ongoing exploration of the relationship between body and mind, between inner impulse and external expression. Through movement, effort, resistance, softness, and stillness, she investigates the body's capacity to reveal new pathways toward understanding, resilience, and growth. Her creations seek to foster a direct and intimate encounter with the audience—one that invites recognition, empathy, and the opening of a shared space for reflection and experience, where the personal narrative resonates with the broader human experience.
As an independent choreographer, she was selected for a residency program at the Arts Printing House in Vilnius and has presented her works as part of the International Dance Week in Jerusalem.
As a dancer, she has participated in projects by various choreographers, including Iris Erez, Ran Ben Dror, Alma Livne, Maayan Zohar, Talya Shalom, and Yulia Mezhetskayaֿ

To Remain
Yifat Ben Baruch - yekutiel
"To Remain" is a dance work that explores physical limitation and the possibilities of moving from within it, alongside it, through it, and in its presence. The movement possibilities are experienced through changing emotional states and reveal themselves to be no less rich or meaningful than those available in a free and unrestricted condition. The work presents an internal, external, and metaphorical dialogue between the mind, the body, and the surrounding environment.

Live Action
Noa Lotem Oron
The work deals with expanding consciousness and retrieving pearls from the abyss of the shifting subconscious. The body is granted freedom—surprising, communicating, and becoming clearer in front of the audience. The piece explores in real-time the reflection of the mind's clutter through body and sound into a creation, arising from the inner wellspring of the dancer and the musician. The two communicate with each other and each with themselves, generating shifting states of movement and sound that test the boundaries of the possible. The act of improvisation serves as a means to question the present and the presence in the moment, opening up a space where the concept of freedom is examined and the mind is liberated.

Entreatment
Batya Daniel
Entreatment is a solo dance about prayer as a search for deep existential connection with Godliness. The work examines movement as a gateway to essence and soul, parallel to the way text and ritual are a gateway to spiritual connection.

Batya Daniel is a Jerusalem-based creator, performer, and educator, and a graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Her work explores the intersection of body and spirit, and the relationship between movement, presence, and spiritual experience. As a dancer and creator, she has participated in independent projects as well as dance and community theatre productions. Alongside her artistic practice, she teaches dance, facilitates group processes, and leads social initiatives that foster dialogue and connection within Israeli society. Entreatment is her first solo work.
