InHOUSE Residency

The residency program offers a unique opportunity for independent dance creators to stay in the halls of the Shalem Dance Center for a period of research and creation, at the end of which a dance work is presented to an audience.

This program provides a safe and open space for research, experimentation, and deepening of artistic creative processes, allowing artists to develop a personal language, explore new materials, and delve deeper into their movement and artistic research.

The residency provides artists with time, space, and supportive conditions for independent or collaborative work, creating fertile ground for enriching encounters with dozens of artists who work at the center every day—dancers, choreographers, designers, musicians, and lighting professionals. This vibrant environment creates mutual inspiration, fosters new artistic dialogues, and encourages original collaborations.

The residency program at the Shalem Dance Center is an integral part of the ecosystem of contemporary dance research and creation – a space where ideas germinate, new voices are expressed, and creators receive the tools and support that allow them to develop and grow.
