Promised Land - A Work during Wartime
"Promised Land" began its journey in the summer of '23, intending to explore creation and chaos. The process was abruptly severed on October 7th. The dancers were called to serve in the army and spent the next months in uniform, joining the armed forces for reserve duty and community protection squads. After about three months, the dancers started to return to work in the studio, bringing in the experiences and spirits of war.
The dancers expressed the unique sensations and movements born in this time, and during the creative process, again and again, chose to take responsibility for one another and support each other. The piece moves in an endless circle that nearly breaks again and again, but all are responsible for its continuity.
