About the event
Strange in 26
By Noa Dar
Twenty-six years after the premiere of the performance 'Strange', created by Noa Dar in collaboration with writer Yosef El-Dror in 2000, Dar stages 'Strange at 26' to re-examine the interplay between audience and dancers, and the impact of the passing time on the viewers, the dance, and the work itself.
The live encounter between the dance and the audience's thoughts creates a multi-layered dialogue that is both humorous and poignant. In this intimate contemporary edition, featuring dancers Moshe Schechter and Michal Mualem (revisiting the role she performed a quarter-century ago), a space is created where performers and spectators join together to observe that "strange" and singular event occurring in the space between them.
"This is a performance that invites you to be present, to vote with your feet. There are experiences not meant to remain in words, but to happen within the encounter itself." Nira Perry, 'Saloona'

About Noa Dar
Noa Dar is a dancer and choreographer who has, over the years, consolidated a rich, original, and groundbreaking body of work, together with artists from various fields who partner in the exploration and development of new forms of creation and performance.
Her works focus on the contact zones of the body with the fabrics of its physical and socio-political environment; in recent years, with her return to performing, her body has become an additional arena through which she examines concepts such as memory, temporality, and transformation.
Dar operates in Tel Aviv within the framework of the 'Noa Dar Dance Group', which she established in 1993, where she creates across a broad spectrum including works for dance companies, for orchestras, for theater groups, performances intended for children, performances in public spaces and site-specific works.
Among her works are 'LandSettlementStillLifeChild', 'Come Lie Down', 'Land Slugs', 'Inventory', 'Noa-aoN', 'Skin', 'Anu', 'Arnica', 'Tetris', 'Strange', 'Children's Games', and many others that have been invited to be presented on major stages and leading festivals in Israel and around the world.
Noa Dar has won numerous awards, including the Minister of Culture Award for Young Choreographers, the Ensemble Performance Award from the Ministry of Culture, the Rosenblum Prize for the Performing Arts from the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, the Dance Creation Prize from the Minister of Culture, and the Landau Prize for Arts and Sciences from the Mifal HaPayis Council for Culture and Arts.', 'Skin', 'Anu', 'Arnica', 'Tetris', 'Strange', and 'Children's Games'. Many of these have been commissioned for major stages and leading festivals in Israel and worldwide.
